Safety First. Always.
Dr. Zhu and the Freedom Dental team are devoted to the health and safety of every single patient.
With the ongoing COVID-19 situation, that matters more than ever before, which is why we’ve taken rigorous steps to safeguard the health of our patients, our staff, and the community of Fairfield as a whole.
We’re going above and beyond to ensure that the time you spend here is as comfortable, enjoyable, and safe as possible – just like you expect from us.
Our Safety Measures
Daily Staff Screening
In addition to their safety equipment, every member of the staff must complete a health screening form each time they arrive at the office.
No more than 2 patients are allowed in the waiting area at any given time to reduce the potential for person-to-person transmission.
Full Safety Gear
All treatment area staff have N95 masks, gowns, caps, gloves, and goggles/face shield, while front office staff have gloves and masks.
Public surfaces like door handles and countertops are thoroughly sanitized after each patient leaves.
Professional Deep Cleaning
At the end of each day, a professional cleaning crew sanitizes the entire office to ensure absolute cleanliness.
Multiple air purifiers throughout the office work to remove any potential harmful particles from the treatment and front office areas.
What To Expect
The appointment experience has changed. Here’s what you need to know.
From before you arrive to the moment when you step back out the door, our safety precautions will be there to protect your health. Read on to learn what’s expected of you, and what you can expect from us.
Before your appointment
Make sure you have a mask to wear to your appointment, and that you’re wearing it when you arrive. If you’re not feeling well, let us know and we’ll find another time for you to come in.
When you arrive
A masked member of our team will greet you at the door to provide you with hand sanitizer and take your temperature with a contactless thermometer. You won’t be able to see it, but we promise that there’s a smile under that mask!
As you’re waiting
In our socially-distanced waiting area, we’ll get you to fill out a screening form to make sure you’re feeling well enough for treatment. Our beverage bar is closed, but water and coffee are still available upon request.
During your treatment
To minimize the risk of aerosols emissions being spread during procedures, we’ll use at least two of a rubber dam or Isolite, a hand held high speed suction, and a Releaf dental vacuum to capture and remove any aerosols.
After you’re finished
Once your treatment is complete, you’ll head to the front desk to wrap up your visit. Clear barriers have been set up at the front desk for added safety, and we’ll get you to sanitize your hands one last time as you leave.
COVID-19 Safety FAQs
Do I absolutely have to wear a mask when I arrive?
We know it’s not the most pleasant or convenient thing, but for the sake of protecting everyone’s health and safety, wearing a mask is mandatory both when you arrive and when you’re in the common areas of our office.
Oh no – I forgot my mask! Can you give me one?
While we may be able to provide you with a mask, it’s best to assume that the answer to this question is “no”. Not because we don’t want to make things easy for you, but because masks are in short supply and keeping them on hand for our staff takes first priority.
If I don’t pass the screening test, will I be charged a cancellation fee?
Don’t worry, you won’t be charged a cancellation fee if you arrive and don’t pass the screening test or temperature check. However, we’ll have to reschedule your appointment for another time when you’re feeling better or aren’t showing symptoms of being sick.
