Stop Eating These Foods If You Want a Bright Smile

Sadly, for coffee addicts, the tannins (acidic flavor components) that make your brew taste good also cause stains and discoloration. The chemical molecule tannins are responsible for teeth staining after drinking the caffeinated beverage. Like cappuccino and latte, tea has tannins that assist in attaching to teeth. Taking your coffee with sugar introduces extra acids and germs into your mouth, eroding enamel and harming gums. 

For green tea, experts advise splurging on a high-quality kind; the cheaper the tea, the more noticeable the stain. He also suggests trying it with a bit of milk to dilute the color. Cutting tea with milk significantly reduces tooth staining. 

Teeth staining could be the result of drinking too much red wine. Red wine contains many natural acids and colors. Red wine also contains tannins like coffee, tea, and cocoa. Enamel, the protective layer of your teeth, can be eaten away by the acid, exposing the dentin underneath and making it easier for stains to appear. 

When you drink white wine, the acids in the wine erode the enamel on your teeth, revealing the yellow dentin underneath. Tooth erosion can occur if you keep an acidic beverage, like Chardonnay, in your mouth for more than seconds, according to research. 

The health of your teeth's enamel depends on avoiding certain foods. A common side effect of energy or sports drinks is tooth enamel erosion. Such drinks contain sugars that feed the bacteria in your mouth; their acidic nature means they can discolor teeth even in sugar-free varieties. 

It's not only a saying that sugar causes tooth decay. The bacteria in your mouth depend mainly on the sugars in tasty delights like cookies and hard. Bacteria thrive on sweets and produce acids that cause tooth decay, which can seem like dark spots or even black holes in your teeth if left untreated.  

The best way to prevent tooth decay is to minimize sugar intake and maintain good dental hygiene. Satisfy your sweet cravings without putting in extra sugar. 

You don't have to give up on pizza or spaghetti sauce. Still, because tomato-based sauces are usually quite acidic, limiting your consumption of foods like these can cause enamel erosion and reveal pores in your teeth is essential. Tomato sauce is very pigmented, giving your teeth a yellowish hue. Acid can also "roughen" up your enamel, which makes it easier for more colorful crap to attach to your teeth. 

Curry powder, a spice that works well in Indian and other exotic foods, is also a source of discolored teeth. Although curry sauces might be fantastic for your palate, they have a dark coloring that can seep into your teeth if you're not careful. Because of its intense pigmentation, it can cause teeth to be yellow with time. Since it leaves a severe discoloration, curry is one of those foods you might want to consume less. 

Berries are full of antioxidants, but these berries will permanently mark anything they touch. The dark pigments in berries can fabricate teeth staining. Fruits with intense colors, such as blueberries, blackberries, cherries, pomegranates, and other dark berries and fruits, can discolor teeth.   

You don't have to give up these healthy and high-antioxidant berries entirely. If you want to maintain a white smile, it's better to swish your mouth with water afterward or use a toothpaste formulated to restore tooth enamel.
